#RaisetheBar Program

Since 2020, the Social Innovation Research Group (SIRG) has been conducting an annual evaluation of the Raise the Bar program offered by the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region (SASC).

SASC’s #RaiseTheBar Program is dedicated to helping organizations in the Region of Waterloo address and prevent sexual harassment in their workplaces. Funded by the Department of Justice, it covers legal rights and responsibilities for employees/employers and also helps participants increase their knowledge and skills around those topics and #RaiseTheBar in their workplace.

#RaiseTheBar programs strive to provide industry-specific research and examples that help each audience make the necessary connections to their professional lives. Additionally, this program aims to increase public education in the Region of Waterloo on sexual harassment in the workplace and globally increases the community’s capacity to respond to sexual harassment.

SASC’s #RaiseTheBar Program is comprised of 6 modules:

  • #RaiseTheBar 101
  • Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Harassment/Violence in the Workplace
  • Bystander Intervention
  • Unconscious Biases
  • Male Allyship in the Workplace
  • Navigating Customers Causing Harm

The goal of our program evaluation is to explore the service user and partners’ experience of the Raise the Bar program.

This program evaluation is currently ongoing.
