Dr. Kathie Cameron Awarded for Distinguished Professional Achievements

Dr. Kathie Cameron, a professor of mathematics at Wilfrid Laurier University since 1989 and a member of the MS2Discovery Institute, was recently the recipient of the Distinguished Professional Achievement Award by the University of Regina Alumni Association.

Every year the University of Regina honours the best and brightest among its more than 80,000 alumni. Award recipients are honoured for their outstanding achievements and innovation, commitment to excellence, community engagement and leadership, and impact on the social, cultural, and economic well-being of society.

Kathie was among the first of the University of Regina's mathematics graduates with honours in the spring of 1976. She has held numerous research and discovery grants from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and her work has been published in scientific journals, widely cited by researchers, and is significant to her own mathematical field and others such as operations research and software engineering.
