Workshop in Honour of Phelim Boyle

Description:  Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo will be hosting a "Conference and Workshop in Honor of Phelim Boyle” on April 30 and May 7, 2021. The two-day conference features an academic workshop for graduate students and a half-day seminar event.

The conference has two broad objectives. First, the conference will honor Professor Phelim Boyle’s ground-breaking contributions to public policy and practice within the field of finance following  his retirement from Wilfrid Laurier university in June 2020. Over a long and distinguished academic career that has spanned nearly five decades, Phelim Boyle has made outstanding contributions in a number of fields in finance. Second, the conference will enable knowledge mobilization and learning for graduate students from practitioners in risk management.  

Overall, the conference will honour a distinguished academic, Professor Phelim Boyle whose seminal research has influenced academia and financial practice.
