- April 2025: Announcing LCMC's new web site, and a spotlight on Dr. Andrea Creech, focusing on artistic citizenship and lifelong learning.
- March 2025: LCMC hosts Kehewin Native Dance Theatre (Alberta) for a video screening and artist talk back.
- February 2025: LCMC gets funding for a Participatory Music Network; Research spotlight on hip hop artist and community organizer Sam Nabi, and two upcoming events: panel on Ghanaian drum music, and research talk on Indigenous-settler community music spaces by Katie Tremblay.
- January 2025: The Circle of Music Intergenerational Choir announced their grant of $35,950. LCMC’s virtual panel on Ghanaian drum music showed immense success.
- December 2024: New PD sessions for CM practitioners and researchers in 2025; research spotlight on Dr. Lee Higgins (York St. Johns, UK)
- November 2024: Screening and panel discussion for Temple of Love: The Erroll Starr Story. Highlighted in the research spotlight is Dr. Debbie Lou Ludolph’s work on her choir, Inshallah, and her songbooks: Sing the Circle Wide (2016) and Sing the Journey Deep (2024).
- October 2024: LCMC Community Research Fellow Dr. Phil Mullen visits Laurier Nov 5-6. Research spotlight on LCMC Community Research Fellow, Bev Foster, showcases her work on the Music Care certification program and the upcoming Music Care Conference.
- September 2024: LCMC Academics: Dr. Lee Willingham, Gerard Yun, and Deanna Yerichuk presented at the Community Music Activity Commission Seminar. Project spotlight highlights Sara Geidlinger’s MA thesis Hip Hop Hope: Underground Rhythms and Anti-racism in Waterloo Region.
