Volunteering

Students at all levels are welcome to volunteer at the Centre. Volunteering is a great way to meet people outside your program or cohort and to gain experience in university activities beyond the classroom.
Some examples of volunteer work at the LCSC are:
  • Archive Organization – digitize materials, assist with research inquiries and accession new collections
  • Conference Preparation – prepare conference materials, manage the book sales table, operate audio-visual technologies for presenters, and welcome and guide attendees.
  • Research Project Assistance – Gather and assess primary source material, build databases and websites, and create other knowledge mobilization materials related to faculty research projects.

Mentorship

For more than 20 years the Centre has provided a welcoming, inclusive, and forgiving environment for students to learn, grow and build confidence. At the LCSC, students get the opportunity to interact with faculty outside of the classroom and with their peers in other programs and degree levels. It is a place where they can ask questions, form friendships, create networks, and flourish within a broad community of scholars and experts.
