CPA Ontario Centre for Capital Markets and Behavioural Decision Making
Our vision in the CPA Ontario Centre for Capital Markets and Behavioural Decision Making is to advance the accounting profession by supporting capital markets and behavoiural decision-making research and innovation, and by furthering accounting and cross-disciplinary advancements. The centre has been designed to develop and promote thought leadership that is relevant and timely for academics, students, public accounting, industry, government and Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Ontario members.
The centre’s mission is to advance the accounting profession by supporting research and innovation, and by developing relevant and timely thought leadership. This will be achieved through:
- Facilitating access of Laurier accounting faculty to research opportunities and outlets.
- Funding the development of thought leadership projects.
- Encouraging students to assist faculty in knowledge development.
- Facilitating knowledge sharing and knowledge dissemination.
The Centre is generously sponsored by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.
CPA Pathway
The centre is a hub for research and a resource for students that are studying for their CPA designations.
There are several ways to earn a CPA designation:
- Complete a BBA, BBA Double Degree or BA Economics and Accounting, and take the CPA exam.
- Complete the Graduate Diploma in Accounting and take the CPA exam.
- Complete the Part-time MBA with CPA and take the CPA exam.
