About Us
The Manulife Centre for Community Health Research (MCCHR) is an interdisciplinary community development and research centre, rooted in the social determinants of health. The centre serves as an incubator for students who are dedicated to community-based scholarship and development in the fields of health and well-being. It actively welcomes Master’s, PhD, and postdoctoral fellows from diverse academic disciplines, fostering engagement with its vibrant communities of practice and research.
MCCHR operates within a community-based health systems framework, providing a platform for the development and enhancement of health systems across the broader community. The centre fosters innovation and cultivates creative partnerships with individuals, government institutions, as well as non-profit and for-profit entities.
At MCCHR, we believe that community well-being is strengthened when the systems individuals engage with prioritize mutuality and shared responsibility in partnerships, ensuring that research is translated into meaningful, actionable outcomes.
