On January 23, faculty, students and community practitioners gathered at the ImprovLab (University of Guelph) for a day-long summit focusing on accompanying people in and through the arts. This marked the first cohosted event between LCMC, the Canadian New Music Network, and the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation, and brought the disciplines of Community Music, Music Therapy, Dance Therapy and Creative Wellbeing into conversation together. With a panel discussions, networking and workshops led by LCMC fellows Doug Friesen (WLU), Deanna Yerichuk (WLU), and Louise Campbell (Canadian New Music Network), the summit offered research, practice, and connection for all involved.
