Dr. Adrienne Johnson joins the UNESCO Chair

Welcome, Dr. Adrienne Johnson!

The UNESCO Chair on Food, Biodiversity and Sustainability Studies welcomes Dr. Adrienne Johnson as our new Associate Director. Dr. Johnson holds an MA in geography and a BA (Hons.) in Political Science and International Development Studies from York University, Canada. Before joining Wilfrid Laurier University in 2025, she was an Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at the University of San Francisco.

Dr. Johnson's areas of expertise include: 

  • environmental governance
  • palm oil and extraction
  • feminist methods and methodologies
